- CASTING/WELDING:
Casting into metal or other permanent material, large and small objects such as portraits, life size figures, reliefs, etc. We can fabricate sculpture from sheet, found and cast metals.
- Casting into gold, silver or other metals, small sculpture, medals and medallions. Those objects for the most part, cast, using the lost wax process, including ceramic shell. We also cast using the no-bake method of sand casting, which we reserve for large or appropriate objects, plaques, etc.
- COMMISSIONS: We offer advice in designing and suggesting contacts for executing original sculpture. The director of the Casting Institute and the technical instructor are fully trained sculptors and usually have several students, both undergraduate and graduate, who are capable of carrying out such commissions.
- BODY CASTS: Body casts are executed by students or staff.
- RESTORATION:
We can fully restore sculpture in all materials. We are presently restoring three plaster reliefs measuring measuring twenty, twenty and thirty feet respectively, by Charles Rumsey. They will be cast in bronze by the Institute's foundry.
- PATINA (COLOR) AND CARING FOR SCULPTURE: We Patina cast sculpture and re-patina sculpture that has been neglected.
- We offer a maintenance and restoration program so that installed sculpture will not fall into neglect. This service is offered within a reasonable radius of Buffalo or Erie County. We have restored sculpture for the City of Buffalo and privately for other clients.
- Currently we are working on restoring a sculpture done by Charles Rumsy (to connect to the Rumsey site click on the word 'Rumsey' below).
